In Mexico, 1-2 November marks the Día de los Muertos - a day to not mourn, but celebrate, the dead. In tribute to this period of festivities, Romain Jerome has issued a special timepiece that draws on the bright and colourful designs of traditional Mexican decorations.
Fittingly, a large skull dominates the dial, featuring a hand-crafted appliqué with champlevé decoration in different colours, emulating the look of the Calaveras - skulls made of sugar given away during the festival as a token of good luck. This burst of vibrancy contrasts against the more sombre mirror-polished black background of the dial and black PVD-coated case.
The watch is available in two different versions, limited to 25 pieces each.
