Boegli, known for its made-to-measure musical watches, has released its first round model – the Grand Opera.
Breaking away from the brand’s trademark stylised rectangular timepieces, the Grand Opera has a more classic appeal, with Côtes de Genève detailing and blue screws. Visible through the sapphire crystal on the dial is the central focus of the watch, a miniscule musical keyboard with 17 notes that sounds The Magic Flute by Mozart on demand. The tune is activated via a pusher situated at 5 o’clock and, unlike previous models, can be stopped just as easily with a second push of the button.
The main time display takes a secondary position on the left hand side, incorporating a discreet calendar function at 6 o’clock on the sub-dial. This gold-plated stainless steel model is a limited edition of 99 pieces, with the watch also available in black, stainless steel or two tone versions. The Grand Opera comes on an alligator leather strap, with retail prices starting at SFr.3,800.
