In was in 1953 that Sam Glur, then Sales Director of Biel watchmaking company Glycine, set out to create the ultimate pilot's watch.
Thus the Airman was developed and brought to market the same year, inspiring years of reiterations based on the timepiece.
Almost 60 years on, Glycine pays tribute to the original watch with the Airman 1953 Vintage, which incorporates the design details and functionality of the original.
The watch is available in a limited edition of 600 and retails at £1,760.
