This year saw the much-anticipated
re-issue of the Van Cleef & Arpels Pierre Arpels watch,
originally designed in 1949.
In stark contrast to the brand's highly decorated automaton timepieces, the subtle, sophisticated design of this ultra-thin watch represents simplicity at its most appealing level.
The minimalist dial is in a pure white honeycomb pattern and set off with thin black and gold Roman numerals and hour baton markers. And as is fitting, such a fine watch deserves only the best of movements, in this case a Piaget manual wind calibre.
